Eden is East - In post-production
Through its people and culture, this film paints a portrait of Romanian solidarity.
One month after the outbreak of war in Ukraine, we set out to meet the individuals responsible for the wave of solidarity in Romania. Against this backdrop, this film paints a portrait of the country. It questions stereotypes, and poses the same questions the filmmakers were asked about solidarity, post-communism, Russian influence, Eastern Europe and fraternity. In this film, we meet teachers, politicians, associations, firefighters, ambulance drivers, entrepreneurs, students and refugees from all over the country. All active in different ways. This documentary paints a true and varied picture of a country that has a lot to teach when it comes to solidarity. The film bears witness to the limits of solidarity in a world driven by money. It questions the selfishness and greed we all carry within us.
A film co-directed with Georgie Day.
